Real Weddings: Gloria and Vishal

We had another successful wedding weekend, this time in DC.

Gloria and Vishal had a jam packed day with not one but two wedding ceremonies. Starting with a gorgeous hindu ceremony, followed by a very emotional christian ceremony.

The wedding was an intimate affair of close friends and family held at The Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner. Guests enjoyed amazing food by Moghul Catering and danced the night away to top bollywood and latin hits thanks to DJ Manan Shah.

 Congratulations to the happy couple!

Menu Cards

Proof-reading all of your event stationary can often be a tedious task which many people tend to ignore until the last possible moment. Although it may not be a priority, small touches such as menu cards really do add so much to your events, showing your guests that the same amount of thought and effort went into making them as it did in selecting the menu itself.

For those of you who love the idea of creating a menu card but don’t know exactly how to do it, here is the general template you should follow:

1.     In honor of
2.     Name
3.     Date
4.     Location
5.     Description of Courses (Appetizers, Salads, Entrées, Main Course, Desserts)

Menu cards can also act as a cute wedding keepsake for your guests and can be paired to your existing wedding stationary design or matched with your reception theme for extra detail!

Creative dance floor ideas

Why not add some unexpected flair to the traditional reception and invest in an unusual dance floor to really wow your guests. Coupled with mood lighting and an energetic DJ, a custom dance floor will be sure to have everyone on their feet all night long. Small white LEDs can create a twinkly starry effect while colorful block squares can be a fun twist on the classic black and white dance floor. Or why not customize your dance floor and have your names or photo projected onto it or monogrammed lettering to really make it personal.  It's a great opportunity to incorporate your wedding colors into a focal point of your reception, and the possibilities really are endless!

Wedding Theme: Winter Wonderland

Fall weather is in full effect which means that Winter will be here before we know it. We love it when the temperatures get chilly, holiday decorations start to adorn the streets and Christmas Carols can be heard everywhere.

Winter is one of the most romantic season for weddings, you can draw inspiration from the twinkly lights and white snow to turn your wedding into a winter wonderland. No matter if your budget is high or low, adding some key elements will make your wedding the perfect winter dream.

Consider shades of silver and gold with hints of blue. Christmas ornaments are great additions to centerpieces that won't break the bank. Also using seasonal flowers such a poinsettias and berries will add that classic holiday look to your event.

Here are some great photos as inspiration:

Real Weddings: Swetha and Saurin

This past weekends festivities were full of non stop dancing, amazing food and enchanting decor.

Swetha and Saurin's wedding weekend started with a colorful Garba at Aashirwad Palace. Guests kept the dance floor packed from the first round of Garba until the DJ played the last song of the night and were left raving over the amazing food Aashirwad prepared for the special event.

The late night on Friday did not stop guests from being ready to celebrate during the early morning Baraat at the One and Only Westmount Country Club.

Following the groom's arrival, guests made their way into the ceremony ballroom that looked like the garden of eden! The decor complimented the chilly fall weather perfectly, with luscious greens, burgundy and yellow flowers and dim lighting

After an afternoon break it was time to get the party started once again! Guests enjoyed some emotional family speeches and hilarious skits by the bridal party. After all the formalities were done guests took to the dance floor and kept dancing well past the scheduled end time of the event!

We need to thank all the amazing vendors that made this weekend such a success! Atlas Floral and All Event Decorators for the Decor, DJ Suhel for keeping the dance floor packed, Moghul Catering for the outstanding food and Karuna Chani for making our bride look beyond stunning.

We cannot wait to see the official photos from Ajit Singh and video from Red Bicycle Media!

Moroccan Themed Décor

Want your guests to experience a destination wedding without having to leave the country? Moroccan themed décor may just be your answer. Glowing lights, bazaar-inspired details and infused pops of color will transport your guests to North Africa as soon as they enter. To really heighten all of the senses you can even go so far as to adapt your catering and entertainment to increase the impression of being in enchanting Morocco.

Here are some charmingly authentic décor details we just love:

Lanterns –these eye-catching pieces can be great incorporated into a stationary centerpiece or even hanging from the ceiling to create an atmospheric glow.

Candles – colorful candle holders make for a beautiful addition to any table; try placing scented candles inside for an even more authentic effect.

Fabric – it wouldn’t quite be Morocco without displays of lush, colorful fabrics. Be it silky draping or cotton cushions, this is one aspect that you really don’t want to forget.

Flowers – the great part about a Moroccan themed event is the abundance of color! Be daring and pair mismatched flowers of differing shades in the same arrangement or scattered around the space, no need to be afraid of clashing!
