Décor Ideas For Outdoor Weddings

Warm summer nights create just the right vibe to hold your reception or event outdoors. We just love sipping on champagne under the stars and eating al-fresco. Here are some of our favorite ideas to make your outdoor wedding as perfect as possible:

1. White lights – we love any excuse to use these! Strings of twinkling white lights  or glass orbs really add a glow to the surroundings and create that magical, romantic feel.

2. Lanterns – these look great either dotted around pathways or even as table centerpieces.

  

3. Candles - There’s nothing more romantic than the dark night being lit by the glow of hundreds of candles. And luckily, candles are inexpensive while looking elegant.

4. Organic greenery – we love it when our brides opt for greenery and natural elements such as branches. Not only does this work really well when paired with white lights or small accents of color, but its also eliminates the need to go overboard with flowers.

5. Mis-matched chairs - It is becoming even more common to mix and match chairs of different styles for a more vintage look. This trend is certainly extremely popular at rustic, outdoor weddings and can definitely help you to save part of your budget for other things!

What to do for your Outdoor Event if it Rains

Outdoor events are very popular and can be very nice when you have a gorgeous setting. However, no matter how amazing your setting is, if it rains you need a backup plan. We tell all our brides that are having an outdoor event, whether it be ceremony, cocktails or reception, they must have a back up plan. Here are our suggestions that will help if rain comes to damper your event.

 

• Have umbrellas available for your guests, especially if you are going to continue with the outdoor baraat.
• Make all weather calls at least 2-3 days before your event so you are prepared and get any necessary items to adjust to the weather call.
• Have some rain items on hold, such as a back up room if held at a venue that offers a back up space, or a tent on hold for those event spaces with no additional covered or indoor spaces to offer you. When putting a tent on hold remember to consider a tent for the actual space and a walkway tent from the drop off point into the tent, as well as side walls.
• Space heaters may be needed if your event is in the fall. After rainfall it tends to get much cooler. If your event falls in the summer and it rains, you may want to consider fans or air conditions to break up the humidity, especially in the tents.

 

 

 

Neha and Michael

We didn't let a little rain put a damper on our wedding this weekend. With a little reworking we made sure our lovely couple Neha and Michael had a fabulous wedding day to remember.

The weekend started with a fun Sangeet at The Double Tree in King of Prussia with great food stations from Amiya. Friends and family enjoyed performances and speeches and a night of dancing with DJ Manan spinning some great bollywood tunes. The big day was jam packed with two ceremonies (Hindu in the morning and Christian in the afternoon), lunch, cocktail hour and reception.

The weather forced us to move the Christian Ceremony inside but the amazing team at Atlas Floral managed to transform the barn at the John James Audubon Center into a gorgeous garden of sunflowers! After the lovely ceremony guests moved into the Pavillion for a 3 course sit down dinner followed by more dancing.

We want to thank everyone that helped us make this event a huge success!
