What to do for your Outdoor Event if it Rains
Outdoor events are very popular and can be very nice when you have a gorgeous setting. However, no matter how amazing your setting is, if it rains you need a backup plan. We tell all our brides that are having an outdoor event, whether it be ceremony, cocktails or reception, they must have a back up plan. Here are our suggestions that will help if rain comes to damper your event.
- Have umbrellas available for your guests, especially if you are going to continue with the outdoor baraat.
- Make all weather calls at least 2-3 days before your event so you are prepared and get any necessary items to adjust to the weather call.
- Have some rain items on hold, such as a back up room if held at a venue that offers a back up space, or a tent on hold for those event spaces with no additional covered or indoor spaces to offer you. When putting a tent on hold remember to consider a tent for the actual space and a walkway tent from the drop off point into the tent, as well as side walls.
- Space heaters may be needed if your event is in the fall. After rainfall it tends to get much cooler. If your event falls in the summer and it rains, you may want to consider fans or air conditions to break up the humidity, especially in the tents.

Neha and Michael
We didn't let a little rain put a damper on our wedding this weekend. With a little reworking we made sure our lovely couple Neha and Michael had a fabulous wedding day to remember.
The weekend started with a fun Sangeet at The Double Tree in King of Prussia with great food stations from Amiya. Friends and family enjoyed performances and speeches and a night of dancing with DJ Manan spinning some great bollywood tunes. The big day was jam packed with two ceremonies (Hindu in the morning and Christian in the afternoon), lunch, cocktail hour and reception.
The weather forced us to move the Christian Ceremony inside but the amazing team at Atlas Floral managed to transform the barn at the John James Audubon Center into a gorgeous garden of sunflowers! After the lovely ceremony guests moved into the Pavillion for a 3 course sit down dinner followed by more dancing.
We want to thank everyone that helped us make this event a huge success!
Congrats to Neha and Michael

Chair Covers & Sashes vs. Chiavari Chairs
Chiavari chairs are becoming ever more popular and common for receptions. The standard at most venues that you will see are their ballroom chairs. Some choose to use chair covers and sashes on these existing ballroom chairs. Although it adds to the décor and enhances the chairs, its looks is vastly different than using chiavari chairs. Chiavari chairs can still tie into the décor from the many color options but gives the décor a more updated and modern feel. Take a look to see the difference. Our suggestion to brides is always do chiavari chairs.

Mandap Styles
When choosing a mandap design there are many things that you need to keep in mind. If you want a square or round mandap, if you want it open or closed, if you want flowers or fabric. Nowadays there are so many different options that the possibilities are endless.
The one main characteristic you need to decide is if you want a modern or tradition mandap. Here are a few examples of each to help you decide

Sunena & Sunny
Another amazing New York City wedding this past weekend. Our
couple, Sunena & Sunny, had their beautiful ceremony at the Mandarin
Oriental New York, surrounded by 150 of their closest family and friends. The
events started with a one of the kind baraat that in Central Park
and around Columbus Circle with Mandarin Security and NYC Police escort! It was
definitely show stopping. The ceremony
and reception had breathtaking views of the City. Elegant Affairs made sure the
décor was chic and elegant in tones of ivory and white, while DJ Raj had guests
dancing the night away. During cocktail hour Dolce Ensemble provided the
entertainment with a string quartet that played both contemporary and Indian
music. Thank you to all of the vendors, including Fred Marcus for photo and
video, for making Sunny and Sunena's day so special. This was truly a New
York experience.

Dana and Tejas
We hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! Summer is coming to an end and so is wedding season! We spent our holiday weekend in Pittsburgh with our lovely couple Dana and Tejas!
With more than 400 friends and family the couple celebrated with a weekend full of events at the Wyndham Grand Downtown Pittsburgh.
On Saturday evening everyone enjoyed a fantastic Sangeet which included mehendi and caricature artists, some Garba and Raas and lots and lots of dancing. Sunday was full of love and laughter with a hour long Baraat in front of the Wyndham across Point State Park, followed by a traditional Hindu ceremony. Later in the evening guests enjoyed cocktail hour, followed by a night of dinner and dancing that went on until 1am!
We want to thank all the great vendors that helped us this weekend including, Dana and Justin at the Wyndham Grand, Rajbhog Foods, Sajawat Decorators, Medley Entertainment and DJ Insomnia.
