Modern Calla Lily Centerpieces

It's no surprise that many brides choose to have calla lilies at their weddings. These gorgeous flowers are the epitome of simplistic elegance. Many of our brides are looking to add a modern twist to this classic to create a unique, dramatic effect. Arranging calla lilies in a modern, yet simple, way, can make gorgeous centerpieces for your cocktail hour and/or reception. We recommend choosing a colored calla lily over the traditional white to enhance your color scheme (since they come in so many colors).

Questions to Ask Decorators

The design of your event is what brings beauty to your big day and truly creates a lasting effect on your guests. Gorgeous floral design has the ability to transform any space and create the day you always imagined. Choosing the right decorator is incredibly important, so make sure to look into at least 2 different décor companies.

Here are some important questions to ask decorators to make sure you choose the right one for you and your budget:

1. How long have you been in the design business?

5. Have you ever done an Indian wedding before?
6. Are you familiar with the décor used in Indian ceremonies?
7. Can you work within my budget?

DIY Cocktail Hour Centerpieces

Decor is one of the most important aspects of your big day which every bride knows. However, knowing which decor to splurge on and which to save on is even more important.

Luncheons and Cocktail Hour are meant to be simple but they do need decor. A great way to add a little decor without breaking the bank is to get a little crafty and to make some fun centerpieces yourself.

Here are some ideas we are in love with:

Consider panting old bottles and using them as vases.

If you love a little bling, why not cover simple votives with glitter.

Mason jars are also a great option as there are many things you can do with them. Consider covering them in twine for a rustic feel or just add a little water and a floating candle.

If you want a little more pizzaz adding some sequins to small bud bases will make a big impact.

If you are a wine lover, gather your collection of wine glasses and flip them! It's that simple, add a bud of your favorite flower and a fragrant candle and voila!

Tall vases give you a multitude of options, from submerged flowers, floating candles, even fruit displays. The sky is the limit.

Types of Charger Plates We Love

Charger plates are a great investment for any wedding. They enhance the overall look of the reception and contribute to the feel and decor of your event. We get asked all the time the difference between a "nicer" charger plate and one which is just to have a charger plate. The answer is that ones that are made of glass, rattan, porcelain or metal, contributes to the luxury feel for your table. Acrylic plates are the least expensive of the charger plate options but when renting these, you want to make sure they are not scratched or look "used".

Here are some of our favorite charger looks and styles:
