SJS Real Wedding: Melanie and Neeraj

We are back in chilly NYC after a fabulous wedding weekend in Turks and Caicos. The entire week was a dream from the lovely couple to great vendors to the amazing view. Our bride and groom were able to enjoy the wedding of their dreams and it was our pleasure to help make that dream come true.

Melanie and Neeraj hosted their closest friend and family at the stunning Amanyara Resort where guests enjoyed a weekend full of festive activities, from a sunset Mehendi event and a colorful Bollywood Soiree to a pool side Ceremony and Reception.

Guests were left in awe the entire weekend thank to the amazing service from the Amanyara team as well as all the vendors that helped the events be such a huge success. Thank you to the amazing team that helped this weekend be so successful, especially to Susmita Patel for her stunning styling of our bride, DJ Insomnia and DJ Sam French for keeping the party going into the early hours in the morning, to Nora at the Peloton Group and her entire staff for the breathtaking decor event after event and to our fantastic photo and video teams, Our Labor of Love and Pacific Pictures, we can't wait to see the final products.

We wish Melanie and Neeraj nothing but a lifetime of happiness and we hope this weekend was full of memories that you will treasure for ever. Congrats!

Destination Weddings: Things to do in Turks and Caicos

Here at SJS we are a huge fan of Destination Weddings, with our next overseas event taking place on the beautiful tropical island of Turks and Caicos in the middle of the Caribbean. Destination weddings can also be a great opportunity for your guests to make a vacation out of your celebration, and its always great to have an excuse to fly to somewhere with an exotic climate!

If you are thinking of having a destination wedding, including a list of fun local activities on your wedding website or in your welcome letter can be very useful for your guests. Using our upcoming wedding in Turks for inspiration, here is our list of suggested activities to really enjoy a destination weekend to the fullest:

Water Sports

Most hotels and resorts will offer a wide selection of water sports, from jet skiing to windsurfing, all perfect for enjoying the crystal-clear waters of the island.

Snorkeling

Take advantage of the turquoise ocean and explore the island by snorkeling in its reefs. At Smiths Reef and Blight Reef you can find a host of tropical sea creatures!

Shopping

Explore the local markets and walk around the winding streets in search of local treasures. The weekly farmer’s market in Providenciales is particular popular with tourists for its collection of fresh produce and authentic artisanal crafts.

Sightseeing

Explore the island on foot or by bicycle, allowing you to take in your historical surroundings. The island’s lighthouse for example, is a historic site currently protected by the National Trust.

Whale Watching

Take a boat tour and witness the North Atlantic Humpback Whale in its natural habitat.
While on whale watching trip you will not only have the opportunity to encounter these amazing creatures by sight, you will also learn many interesting and educational facts.

Tram tours

Immerse yourself into the rhythm of this authentic Caribbean port. Use the Island Trams to get around, each equipped with local guides who will give you the knowledge, attention and personal service to make your trip a memorable one.

Turks and Caicos Planning Trip

We had the pleasure of going back to Turks and Caicos with one of our lovely couples last weekend. Sujata and Priyesh are so nice and it has been such a pleasure working with them. They are getting married in May and we got to finalize all the details of their big day. Their wedding will be a small affair but full of gorgeous details.

Turks and Caicos is a great location for a destination wedding. Not alot of people have experienced it so your guests will appreciate going to a new place. Since the island is so small they have a very tight nit community and everyone is great to work with and very professional. Make sure you check out The Seven Stars Grace Bay Hotel; their level of service is incomparable.
